911 Call Center
Owned, and contracted by, the Allegheny County Airport Authority, the 911 Call Center is a critical emergency response building. With 24/7 operation managing police, fire, and emergency medical services serving a population of 1,229,605 people in an area of 730 square miles, the county utilizes the 67,390ft2 center to operate four divisions: 911 Operations and Communications, Fire Marshal’s Office, Fire Training Academy, and Emergency Management (EMA).
HER staffs two full-time Building Managers providing the data center with facility management support services as well as maintenance and repairs, in addition to 24/7 emergency response. Infrastructure that is most critical, such as the electrical distribution equipment, plumbing, air handling equipment, lighting, chilled water system, and HVAC is inspected and maintained routinely. HER also proudly assists ACAA by consulting on capital improvement projects.
From day one in their new location, ACAA partnered with HER to ensure the mechanical and electrical systems of the facility would be maintained at the highest standard and without incident. The 911 Call Center runs with a “No Fail” mindset as each division is critically important, handling life and death situations daily.
